Users will receive Push Notification News about upcoming iPick U Event Dates and Locations.
All images submitted to iPick U will be evaluated and confirmed before getting published to our servers.
Ability to Change user Password in case the iPhone is lost and the Password is forgotten.
Registration
Launching the application for the first time will require you to register a new account.
(Registration requires a network connection).
- Select Register and enter a username (don’t forget your username).
- Now enter and confirm a password for it (try not to forget it)
- Select your gender
- Select which gender you would prefer to be contacted by
- Enter your age
- Select a profile picture
You get three options to choose a picture from:
- a. You can take a picture using your iPhone's camera
- b. You can use any one of your iPhone's photo library pictures
- c. You can grab any one of your Facebook profile pictures but you'll need to log into Facebook.
To do so, just click on the Facebook button.
- After choosing the image you want to use, you will have the ability to resize and crop any part of it.
- When done, hit Submit and your account should get created.
The steps above will only be performed once. Each time you launch the app thereafter, you will automatically be logged into the application.

You are now searchable. Which means, all members of iPick U can contact you.
On the main screen, you will see five buttons, labeled:
- GPS Search
- Local Search
- Invite
- Recent Conversations
- Favorites
Your iPhone’s Bluetooth must be turned on to use the Bluetooth search feature.
Clicking the GPS Search button will activate GPS search. This search will return all iPick U users that match your search criteria sorted by distance closest to you. The list will include a picture and the user info of each user.
Clicking on any of the users will bring up the User Info screen. On this screen you have two options.
- Chat – takes you straight to the chat screen
- + Favorites – adds user to your Favorites list
Every user that sends or receives a message from you will automatically get added to your Recent Conversations List.

Searching for other people
Clicking the Local Search button will activate Bluetooth search. If it so happens that you are in a social environment where there are OTHER iPick U users around, using the app, then based on your search criteria, you will get a list of them. The list will include a picture and the user info of each user.
Clicking on any of the users will bring up the User Info screen. On this screen you have two options.
- Chat – takes you straight to the chat screen

Meet – sends out a "Requesting to meet" message to the user
If a "Meet" request is sent out and accepted, then the two connected iPhones will start to flash the same colored light across the whole screen. One of the iPhones will display "iPick" horizontally, and the other will display "U" vertically. Taping the flashing screen will reveal a faint back button that will return you to the Main Screen.
Clicking the Recent Conversations button will bring up a list of all your recent conversations.

- Block - blocks the user from contacting you permanently

- Delete - Removes the user from the Recent Conversations list

Inviting other people
Clicking the Invite button will bring up all your contacts from your iPhone’s contacts list. Select the contacts that you want to invite and click the right arrow button. This will bring up your iPhone’s email, and auto populate the chosen contacts in the BCC area. You can also add other friend’s email addresses manually. When done, click the SEND button. iPick U will decide to either send them an email or a text message with an explanation of why they received the message and two links.
(Text messages only work on the AT&T network in the United States)
Link Number One is a direct link to grab iPick U from the App Store. Once they click it and download the application, they can come back to that same email/text message and click on the second link.
Link Number Two will launch iPick U and automatically add them to your Favorites list.
Clicking the "i" (Settings) button will bring up the settings menu.
- Self Description - This is a one sentence description of yourself and what you’re looking for.
- Change Picture
- Stay awake feature - if switched ON will NOT allow your iPhone to go to sleep mode
- Bluetooth Reminder – if set to "ON" will display a dialog upon clicking the Local search button from the main menu reminding you to turn Bluetooth "ON". Which is done by exiting the app, going to the iPhone’s Settings > General > Bluetooth, and witching it "ON"
- Sound/Vibrate options –turn sound/vibrate options on/off
- Change Password – change password
On the Mains Screen, you will also see the Current Push Message Counter. This is located at the very bottom, between the Help and Settings Buttons. This counter represents the number of Remaining Outgoing Push Messages you have left.
Push Notifications
Pushes are messages sent via our Push Notification Servers.
All incoming pushes are FREE.
Every outgoing push you send deducts one from your Remaining Messages.
Depending on what promotion is offered during your initial download, you will receive a certain number of outgoing push messages. When the initial amount runs out, you will have the ability to acquire more.
Settings
On the main screen, selecting the "i" (Settings) button will bring up the settings menu. This is where you can tweak some of the features of iPick U:
- Interaction Level - The interaction level is an indicator of what you are looking for. It's measured on a scale from: 1 - 5:
- 1 - being not very interested in hooking up and
- 5 - being very interested
- Change Picture
- Update Subscription - iPick U is a subscription-based application, it costs $0.99 per month or you may choose from a list of more cost friendly level subscriptions.
- Stay awake feature - if switched ON will not allow your iPhone to go to sleep mode
- Your Status - indicates if you are currently searchable or not
- Beep/Vibrate options - if you would like to turn sound/vibrate options on/off
